Oreo Iced Cappuccino

Another craving turned into reality…

I love Tim Horton’s Oreo Iced Capp since I got introduced to it a couple of years ago. It’s such a treat! But again, during these weird times, I’d rather try to make my own food and drinks as much as I can so that I don’t have to go out often.

This recipe is very easy and fast to make, it just requires a bit of organization as you want to make the coffee ahead so it has the time to cool down.

While you’re brewing the coffee, you can also prepare the chocolate simple syrup and place the bowl you’re going to use to whip the cream in the fridge/freezer to facilitate the process.

Once you’re ready to enjoy your iced cappuccino, whisk the cream until stiff peaks with the sugar. Then mix in the Oreo crumbs and place the cream in a piping bag.

Blend together the other ingredients, pour in a glass and garnish with the Oreo whipped cream.

You can make it vegan by substituting the whipping cream with coconut cream, see notes below.

Ingredients
  

Chocolate syrup

  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder

Iced cappuccino

  • 2 tbsp chocolate syrup
  • cup coffee cooled down
  • cup milk I used plant-based milk, coconut and almond blend
  • 4 ice cubes a handful
  • 2 tbsp Oreo crumbs

Oreo whipped cream

  • ½ cup whipping cream
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp oreo crumbs

Instructions
 

  • Start by preparing the chocolate simple syrup by bringing to a boil the sugar and the water. Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from the stove and add the cocoa powder. Allow to cool down.
  • Make the Oreo whipped cream. Whisk the cream and the sugar together, until stiff peaks. Mix in the Oreo crumbs gently with a rubber spatula. Put in a piping bag.
  • Put 2 tbsp chocolate syrup, coffee, milk, ice cubes and 2 tbsp Oreo crumbs in a blender. Blend until smooth.
  • Pour in a glass, and pipe the Oreo whipped cream on top.

Notes

Make it vegan by substituting the whipping cream with coconut cream. Place the can in the fridge overnight and only use the solid part to whisk with the sugar and Oreo crumbs!
